Breakwater Construction
Breakwaters are typically used to protect infrastructure and to reduce the intensity of wave action in inshore waters and thereby reduce coastal erosion. State and local government authorities are responsible for the construction and maintenance of breakwaters. APS have constructed and maintained many different breakwaters throughout Victoria. One of the most important features of APS’s breakwater works is the inter-locking / tight knit and careful placement of the armour and toe rocks resulting in an extremely high quality durable structure.
